Road works related to the Kappara Project

Following asphalting works in Triq Birkirkara up to San Ġwann junction, works on road markings will be carried out tonight between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs.

During works, the road will be closed to traffic.  Vehicles proceeding from Triq l-Imrabat to San Ġwann will be diverted onto Triq is-Sorijiet, onto Triq il-Qalb Imqaddsa and onto Triq Birkirkara. Traffic from Vjal ir-Rihan to Triq l-Imrabat will be diverted onto Triq Birkirkara, onto Triq Tas-Sliema direction to Kappara roundabout and onto Triq Tas-Sliema Gżira towards Triq D’Argens.

We apologise for any inconvenience.  Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.

Maintenance work in Triq Baltiku St. Julian’s

Maintenace work will be carried out in Triq Baltiku St. Julian’s tonight and tomorrow night between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs. Works are related to the Kappara Project.

During works, traffic from San Ġwann to St. Julian’s will be diverted onto Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli and onto Manwel Dimech bridge. Traffic from Spinola St. Julian’s to Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli will be diverted onto other alternative routes whilst traffic from Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli to Spinola St. Julian’s will not be affected.

This traffic arrangement applies for public transport.

Works in Triq Birkirkara St. Julian’s by the Water Services Corporation

Triq Birkirkara St. Julian’s will be closed to vehicular traffic on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th June 2015 between 1900hrs and 0600hrs. Resurfacing works on trenching will be carried out following works on the laying of water main by the Water Services Corporation. Scarifying works will be carried out during the day. No road closure will take place during the day but drivers are advised to proceed with caution.

Traffic Diversions at night:

All vehicular traffic proceeding from San Ġwann towards Tas-Sliema will be diverted onto Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, Triq Reggie Miller and Rue D’Argens. Vehicular traffic coming from Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli will proceed towards the tunnel direction to Tas-sliema and to Triq Reggie Miller.

All vehicular traffic coming from Triq l-Imrabat Tas-Sliema towards Triq Birkirkara San Ġwann will be diverted onto Triq is-Sorijiet and Triq il-Qalb Imqaddsa.  Traffic from Triq l-Imrabat Tas-Sliema towards Triq it-Torri will be diverted onto Triq il-Kulleġġ.

Public Transport:

All buses coming from Rue D’Argens will be diverted onto Triq Reggie Miller, Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, Triq Birkirkara and proceed with the normal route.

All buses coming from Triq Birkirkara San Ġwann will be diverted onto Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, Triq Reggie Miller, Rue D’Argens  and proceed with the normal route.

St. Julian’s Local Council is organising Festa Lapsi.

Part of Triq San Ġorġ, from the ‘Love’ monument to Triq Spinola, will be closed for traffic on Sunday 7th June 2015 between 7:00hrs and 17:30hrs, due to the  annual Festa Lapsi organised by the Local Council of St. Julian’s.

All vehicles coming from Triq it-Torri Tas-Sliema will be diverted onto Triq Mikelanġ Borg and Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli.

All vehicular traffic coming from the centre of St. Julian’s will proceed towards the roundabout junction in Triq ir-Ross and to Triq Sant’ Andrija.

Laying of Sewer Main by the Water Services Corporation

The Water Services Corporation is laying a sewer main in St. Julian’s.

Part of Triq Birkirkara, between Triq Arċisqof Romero and Triq il-Kulleġġ, will be closed for traffic as from Monday 1st June 2015.  These works are scheduled to be completed within a month.

All vehicles  coming from San Gwann towards Sliema will be diverted onto Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli (Triq Reġjonali) and onto Triq Reggie Miller towards Rue D’Argens. Traffic coming from Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli towards Sliema will proceed straight from the tunnels to Triq Reggie Miller.

Traffic coming from Triq l-Imrabat Sliema will be diverted onto Triq is-Sorijiet and onto Triq il-Qalb Imqaddsa towards Triq Birkirkara San Gwann.  Traffic may also be diverted onto Triq il-Kulleġġ towards Triq it-Torri.

Public Transport:

Bus routes 22  coming from Rue D’Argens will be diverted onto Triq Reggie Miller near Zammit Clapp Hospital, proceed towards Kappara roundabout, onto Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli direction to the tunnels and follow the normal route to San Gwann.

Bus route 24and 32 in Ta’ Ġiorni and the bus routes in San Gwann will be diverted onto Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, through the tunnels and onto Triq Reggie Miller near Zammit Clapp Hospital and onto Rue D’Argens.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution. Any inconvenience is regretted.

Road Works in Triq Birkirkara St. Julian’s

Works related to the  laying of water main in Triq Birkirkara St. Julian’s has now reached phase 2.  As from Monday 4th May 2015, part of Triq Birkirkara between Triq Sir Joseph Carbone and Triq il-Kulleġġ will be closed.

Vehicles proceeding from Triq l-Imrabat Sliema to St. Julian’s will be diverted onto Triq il-Kulleġġ l-Antik and onto Triq it-Torri. Vehicles proceeding from Triq l-Imrabat Sliema to San Ġwann will be diverted onto Triq is-Sorijiet, Triq il-Qalb Imqaddsa and onto Triq Birkirkara. Vehicles proceeding from Triq Birkirkara San Ġwann or from Triq Reġjonali will be diverted onto Triq il-Qalb Imqaddsa, Triq is-Sorijiet and Triq l-Imrabat Sliema.

Public Transport:

All buses coming from Rue D’Argens will be diverted onto Triq Reggie Miller, Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, Triq Birkirkara and proceed with the normal route.

Triq Birkirkara St. Julian’s

Transport Malta notifies that Triq Birkirkara in St. Julian’s, between the junction near the traffic lights and Triq Sir Joseph Carbone, will be closed to vehicular traffic due to works on the water main.  Phase 1 will start on Monday 20th April 2015 at 09:00hrs.  These works are scheduled to be completed within two weeks.

Vehicular traffic coming from San Ġwann will be diverted onto Triq Lapsi onto Triq Sir Joseph Carbone and onto Triq Birkirkara.

Vehicular traffic coming from Sliema will not be affected.

Public Transport will not be affected.

Road Closed

Part of Triq Birkirkara St Julians (between Triq Arcisqof Romero and Triq il-Kullegg) will be closed for traffic on Sunday 19th April between 07:30 and 16:30 due to construction works.

All vehicular traffic coming from San Gwann can pass through Triq Lapsi and Telghet San Giljan to reach Tower road or divert to Triq Qalb Imqaddsa and to Triq is-Sorijiet to Triq Imrabat.

All vehicular traffic coming from Sliema can divert to Triq is-Sorijiet to Triq Imrabat to reach Triq Birkirkara San Gwann or either divert to Triq il-Kulleġġ

Public Transport

Route bus 22 coming from RUE D’ARGENS will divert left onto TRIQ REGGIE MILLER(Zammit Clapp) then left down to KAPPARA roundabout and up again to TRIQ MIKIEL ANTON VASSALLI direction to the tunnels. Turn left down just before the tunnels to continue as the normal route towards SAN GWANN

Route buses have to divert from SAN GWANN up to TRIQ MIKIEL ANTON VASSALLI (tunnels) then turn left onto TRIQ REGGIE MILLER (Zammit Clapp) and at the end of the road turn right onto RUE D’ARGENS to continue as the normal route.
