Works on the National Flood Relief Project in Triq Birkirkara Ħ’Attard.

Works related to the National Flood Relief Project in Ħ’Attard will be carried out in phases as from this week. These works are scheduled to be completed within three weeks.

Works will commence on Tuesday 12th May 2015 in Triq Birkirkara Ħ’Attard between Triq Oscar Testa and Vjal De Paul.

No road closures will take place and motorists are advised to proceed with caution. Any inconvenience is regretted.

Final Phase of works in Triq in-Naxxar, Birkirkara for the National Flood Relief Project.

The works in Triq in-Naxxar, Birkirkara for the National Flood Relief Project will enter the final phase tomorrow, 30th April and are expected to be completed within two weeks.

Triq in-Naxxar, corner with Triq Papa Urbanu VII will be closed for traffic.  All commercial outlets in the area will remain accessible.

Vehicles coming from Lija roundabout will be diverted through Triq FS Caruana, onto Triq il-Karmnu and back to Triq in-Naxxar.

Vehicles coming from Triq il-Wied Birkirkara are requested to proceed through Triq il-Wied and onto Triq Papa Piju XII to reach Triq in-Naxxar.

Public Transport, in both directions, will be diverted through Triq il-Wied ta’ Hal Balzan and then to Triq il-Wied Birkirkara to proceed with the normal route.  

Transport Malta urges drivers to follow the temporary road signs.

Works on The National Flood Relief Project have now reached another phase.  Hence, Triq in-Naxxar between Triq Papa Piju XII and Papa Urbanu VIII will be closed to vehicular traffic from tomorrow 21st April 2015 at 06:00hrs.  These works are scheduled to be completed by the 29th of April 2015.

However, access will be available to vehicular traffic proceeding from Mosta towards Valletta. Traffic coming from Triq il-Wied Birkirkara will be diverted onto Triq il- Fuħħarin and onto Triq Ganu to reach Birkirkara By-Pass.  Traffic may also proceed to Triq il-Wied towards Ħal Balzan to reach Ħal Lija roundabout.

Public transport will be diverted onto Triq il-Wied and then to Ħal Lija roundabout to proceed with the normal route.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and to follow signage on site.

Works on The National Flood Relief Project have now reached phases 9 and 10.  Hence, Triq in-Naxxar between Triq Anġlu Mallia and Triq il-Wied in Birkirkara will be closed in phases as from tomorrow 15th April 2015 at 06:00hrs.  These works are scheduled to be completed within two weeks.

Access will be available to vehicular traffic proceeding from Mosta towards Valletta. Traffic coming from Triq il-Wied to Mosta will be diverted onto Triq il-Wied and may either proceed to Triq il-Karmnu to reach Triq in-Naxxar or pass through Triq il-Wied Ħal Balzan to reach Iklin roundabout.

Public transport will be diverted onto Triq il-Wied and then to Iklin roundabout to proceed with the normal route.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and to follow signage on site.

A new phase for the National Flood Relief Project

Ongoing works related to the National Flood Relief Project

Works on The National Flood Relief Project have reached a new phase.  Hence, as from tomorrow 8th April  at 09:00hrs, Triq in-Naxxar Birkirkara, crossroads with Triq il-Karmnu will be closed. This phase is expected to be completed by the end of this week.

Buses will go through Triq il-Wied, Triq il-Kbira and Triq il-Wied ta’ Ħal Balzan.

Ongoing works related to the National Flood Relief Project

Transport Malta notifies that works on phase 3 related to the National Flood Relief Project in Ħal Lija, will be continued on Friday 27th March 2015 from 09:30hrs onwards.  These works are scheduled to be completed within three days. 

In view of this, part of Triq il-Wied Ħal Balzan, from Triq Ġulju Cauchi to Triq Wiġi Muscat, will be closed to traffic. All vehicular traffic coming from Hal Balzan towards Mosta will be diverted onto Triq Ġulju Cauchi, onto Triq Dun Ġwann Żammit Hammet, onto Triq L-Għerusija onto Triq Wiġi Muscat, and proceed towards Iklin roundabout and onto Triq in-Naxxar.

Meanwhile works on phase 4 related to the National Flood Relief Project in Birkirkara, will be carried out between Friday 27th March 2015 from 09:30hrs and Thursday 02nd April 2015. Triq il-Mitħna will be closed to vehicular traffic due to excavation of culverts along the road. Triq in-Naxxar Brikirkara will be opened to traffic in both directions until further notice.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and to follow signage on site.

Traffic arrangements in Naxxar Road Birkirkara

Access to Mosta from Iklin roundabout is being restricted until Sunday 15th March 2015 for safety reasons. This until phase two of the National Flood Relief Project is completed.

Vehicular traffic coming from Triq il-Wied Birkirkara towards Mosta is being diverted onto Triq il-Mitħna and onto Triq il-Wied Ħal Balzan.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and to follow signage on site.

National Flood Relief Project Works Continue

 In connection with the National Flood Relief Project, Transport Malta notifies that as from Friday 27th February 2015, works will continue along Triq in-Naxxar Birkirkara and should take approximately 2 months. Triq in-Naxxar will be closed in phases, according to work exigencies. Public Transport will be diverted through Triq Ganu and through Triq il-Wied Hal Balzan, depending on the phase in hand.

Transport Malta will be issuing updates and more information about traffic diversions and road closures during the course of implementation.

The National Flood Relief Project is tackling  problems of flooding in three of Malta’s rain water catchments and directly effecting a total of twelve different localities namely Attard, Lija, Balzan, B’Kara, Iklin, Msida, Marsa, Qormi, Zebbug, Gzira, Zabbar and Marsascala.

Phase 3 of the National Flood Relief Project

The public is informed that on Monday 2nd February will commence phase 3 of the National Flood Relief Project at the Lija/Iklin area. These works are scheduled to be completed within three weeks.

In connection with these works, part of Triq Wied Hal Balzan (from Triq Gulju Cauchi up to Triq Wigi Muscat) will be closed for traffic. All vehicular traffic coming from Balzan towards Mosta will be diverted through Triq Gulju Cauchi and then to Triq Dun Gwann Zammit Hammet to Triq L-Għerusija and then to Triq Wiġi Muscat to reach Iklin roundabout and then proceed normal to Triq in-Naxxar. Vehicular traffic coming from Mosta and B’Kara By Pass to Mosta will not be affected.

The National Flood Relief Project aims at tackling problems of flooding in three rain water catchments which affects directly twelve different localities.
