Maintenance works in Triq L-Imdina Ħ’Attard by the Water Services Corporation

Water Services will be carrying road works in Triq L-Imdina Ħ’Attard tonigh.  They have installed a water main and will now reinstate the road.

Traffic arrangement:

20:30hrs – Triq L-Imdina will be closed to vehiclular traffic direction to Valletta.  Traffic from Rabat will be diverted through Ta’ Qali. Traffic from Valletta will not be affected.

24:00hrs – Triq L-Imdina will be closed to traffic in both directions. Traffic from Rabat will be diverted through Ta’ Qali. Traffic from Valletta will be diverted through Ħ’Attard centre.

06:00hrs (Saturday 29 August) – Road will be fully accessible for traffic.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution. Any inconvenience is regretted.

National Flood Relief in Iklin

Ongoing works related to the National Flood Relief Project in L-Iklin

Traffic flow in Triq il-Wied L-Iklin will be directed from Naxxar to L-Iklin only. This is due to the ongoing works related to the  National Flood Relief Project.

Traffic  from Birkirkara bypass will be diverted onto Triq Ħal Għargħur and onto Triq Tal-Balal.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.

Mexican tall ship in Grand Harbour

The Cuauhtémoc, a 270-foot tall ship, was in Malta for a few days.  She left this morning.  The imposing training ship of the Mexican Navy has three masts, 23 sails and a complement of 225 sailors.

Earlier this week a delegation from the ship led by the commander of the vessel Captain Pedro Mata Cervantes paid a courtesy visit to Capt. David Bugeja, Harbour Master at Transport Malta.

New CVA access point in Valletta

Merchant Street

Valletta CVA Scheme – New Access Point

An additional CVA access point for vehicles entering Valletta from Merchants Street will be activated with immediate effect due to traffic arrangements currently in place at Castille Place. The measure is being taken in accordance with the Vehicle Access Zones (Control) Regulations (S.L. 65.31)

For billing purposes, the said point will be referred to as St. James.  Normal chargeable hours and applicable tariffs will apply.

Summer Carnival in Buġibba

The Summer Carnival in Buġibba will be held on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August 2015. 

Traffic management will be as follows:

Saturday 22nd August between 18:00hrs and 24:00hrs:

Vehicular traffic will not be allowed along the promenade between Triq Buġibba and The Malta National Aquarium. All vehicular traffic including the buses will be diverted onto Triq it-Turisti.

Sunday 23rd August between 18:00hrs and 24:00hrs:

Traffic along the promenade will be allowed up to the Malta National Aquarium until 20:00hrs.

Triq it-Turisti will be closed to traffic between 20:00hrs and 24:00hrs but access through the promenade will be available.

As from 21:00hrs, traffic in the promenade, between Buġibba Square and Triq L-Imsell will be controlled by the Police Officers.

Access to the bus terminus will be available on both days.

National Flood Relief Project continues

Ongoing works related to the National Flood Relief Project in L’Iklin

Works on The National Flood Relief Project have now reached phase two.  As from tomorrow 21 August at 09:30hrs, trenching works will be carried out in Triq il-Wied. Works are scheduled to be completed by 4 September 2015.

Only traffic from L’Iklin to Naxxar will be allowed. Traffic  from Triq Tal-Balal Naxxar to Triq Dun Karm (B’Kara byPass) will be restricted and vehicular traffic will be diverted onto Triq il-Labour Naxxar or onto Triq Hal Għargħur.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.

Construction Works in Sliema

Road Closed

Part of Triq Nicoló Isouard, between Triq Depiro and Triq Norfolk in Tas Sliema, will be closed to traffic tomorrow 21 August between 07:00hrs and 13:00hrs for safety reasons. Construction works will be carried out on site and road will be closed for safety reasons.

Vehicular traffic from Triq Nicoló Isouard will be diverted onto Triq Depiro and onto Triq Adrian Dingli.

Feast in Żabbar

Feast Celebration in Ħaż Żabbar

A large flag pole will be put up today in Ħaż Żabbar in connection with the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Graces. For safety reasons, Triq il-Labour corner with Triq Bajada will be closed to vehicular traffic between 17:00hrs and 19:00hrs.

Vehicular traffic to and from Ħaż Żabbar centre will be diverted onto Triq il-Kunsill tal-Ewropa. Access to Marsaskala through the bypass will remain.

Public Transport will not be affected but access will be supervised by the Traffic Control Officers.

Ongoing works related to the National Flood Relief Project

Works on The National Flood Relief Project have reached another phase.  As from tomorrow 18th August at 09:30hrs, construction of storm culverts will take place in Trid Dun Karm (bypass) in Birkirkara. Works are scheduled to be completed by Monday 7th September.

Road closure is not necessary since works will be carried out on one lane at a time however delay in traffic is expected. Priority will be given to traffic from Triq Reġjonali.
